As a teacher, I work for 10 hours every day, for 5 days a week.
Being on my feet and walking all day make my feet really sore and swollen when the day is over.
I work as a teacher in a high school with five floors.
I can't use the elevators because they are only for the handicap students there, so I'm always running up and down the stairs.
An old foot and knee injury adds to the existing strain.
The persistent agony started to impact my ability to provide the level of care I pride myself on, pushing me towards the brink of professional exhaustion.
This intense struggle, a blend of physical pain and mental stress, has become a relentless part of my everyday life.
There's no question that when you're dealing with the persistent pain of foot pain, you'll try just about anything to find relief. From physical therapy to pain medications, it can be a long and frustrating journey to discover what works for you.
When I first began experiencing this foot pain, it was difficult for me to pinpoint the exact cause. The pain I've been feeling is deep and stabbing, sometimes dull and achy. It feels like constant pressure at the bottom of my heel.
Years of Foot Pain Made My Life as a Teacher a Nightmare
Every day for me was full of trouble - I felt like I was about to lose hope.
(and every step hurt a lot).
Students would actually watch me as I walked, or more like, as I hobbled by.
I stopped looking at students because I felt shy about their stares and thoughts.
I even started avoiding walking where people could see me at work.
When students asked me why I was walking funny, I just said I was fine, but I couldn't pretend for long, and it started to show that I wasn't fine.
When one of my students joked that I should be the one sitting on the chair, all I could do was laugh because it was sadly true.
I felt like I was at the lowest point, even though I'm only in my 40s.
So, if you’re like me - hurting with every step, not being able to walk like normal…
I really UNDERSTAND you.
And please remember it’s not your fault.
No one wants to have feet that hurt all the time. But some people decide not to do anything to make them feel better.
The Hardest Part Was, I Was Trying My Best To Feel Better.
I tried everything I could think of,
cortisone shots to reduce swelling, new shoes, special shoe inserts, electric foot massages, soaking in Epsom salt, using bandages, taking pain medicine, but nothing really fixed the problem.
All of these only made me feel a bit better for a few hours and some were just a waste of money.
The cortisone shots to reduce swelling helped with the pain for a few hours, not weeks like they said they would.
They cost $150 each time, and they don't even fix the problem - they just make the swelling go down - so you have to keep getting them.
New shoes can cost a lot of money, especially the good ones. And I tried 3 different kinds without feeling any better for a long time.
That was another $500 I spent for nothing.
A podiatrist finally told me I have Plantar Fasciitis and suggested I try a different approach with my footwear, so despite the cost, I decided to make another change.
2 months and $400 later, I finally had a new pair of special orthopedic shoes designed specifically for people like me.
I put them on for work with high hopes because I heard they might be the answer to my foot pain.
And like the other attempts, after 2 weeks, I still felt no change in my foot pain.
In my desperation, I had even started taking painkiller medicine - something I told myself I would never do because I was scared of getting addicted and hurting my health even more, like a lot of other people have done.
Other things I tried, like soaking in Epsom salts, using bandages or getting electric foot massages, were just guesses in the dark.
By the end of the day, I was usually really grumpy and short-tempered, and my family usually had to deal with it.
I started to believe that my life would always be full of terrible pain, being angry, and walking with a limp.
But then something happened.
One day, after a very hard day at work, I was just sitting on my couch looking at my Facebook because my feet hurt too much to do anything else. Then a video on my feed caught my eye.
It was a story from another teacher like me, telling how she stopped her Plantar Fasciitis.
By the time the video was done, I realized that her story sounded a lot like mine.
She said that her secret to feeling better was a pair of special shoes made by a brand called ComfortWear for people who have to stand all day for work.
I had never heard of something like that, and honestly, it sounded too good to be true. So I looked at the comments under the video.
I was surprised to see so many good things people were saying about these ComfortWear Ortho Stretch shoes.
Feeling like I was out of options, I decided to give them a try - after all, they cost less than all the other things I tried before,
and I didn't have anything to lose, except my foot pain.
So I ordered the shoes, thinking they might just let me down like everything else when I wore them to work.
But I can honestly say, I am so happy I got them!
Almost all of my foot pain, about 80%, was gone from the first day - they are truly amazing!
The reason these ComfortWear Ortho Stretch shoes work so well is because they are made in a special way, just for people who have to be on their feet all day.
They have strong arch supports that keep the middle part of my foot in the right place,
and extra soft parts at the heel that keep my feet steady and keep my heels from hurting from hard floors.
The shoes are covered in a layer of soft silicone, so they give strong support but still feel very soft and comfortable.
It really feels like walking on clouds (as much as I can imagine, haha)
They fit perfectly for work, I just switched from my old shoes and I felt the difference right away.
I got three more pairs just to be safe.
After a week of using these special shoes, I feel like a new person. I walk with my head held high and no more limping. I feel like I have my energy and love for life back.
I feel like I have my energy and love for life back.
My students even noticed that I am more happy and positive. Their reaction made me so happy that I started crying. For the first time, they were not tears of being upset or embarrassed, but tears of winning.
Years of Pain, and Frustration Disappeared in a Single Day
One person's story really helped me find these life-changing shoes.
Now, I wear them all the time and suggest them to all the healthcare heroes I know, and that's a lot of people!
If it wasn't for these special shoes, I would still be dealing with being upset, feeling shy, and having a lot of pain.

"I bought this product for my girlfriend, who is a healthcare worker. She has been using it for a few weeks now and says it has helped with her foot pain after the long 12-hour shifts at the hospital. She also likes the fact that it is very comfortable to wear and has a nice slip-resistant grip unlike other brands."
